Right at the waters edge the power of gentle in-coming waves separates the sand grains by size, weight and density. A consequence of this is that as the different sands and different colours separate, the action of the outgoing wave creates a pattern. If this is not 100% clear find a friendly geologist as ask him or her. Anyway; the pattern generating capacity is emphasised where a small pebble exists. These images are a sample of those taken during an very restful hour or so with toes dipped in the cooling water.
